Even the biggest key players in the industry can be moved and disrupted by the innovations of young talented developers made over the course of 48 hours. Key players need to be attentive to such events and maintain flexibility in developing business plans while endorsing smaller-scale startups to foster the explorations young innovators around the world. Best of luck in the future, boys!
Infinito Phoenix’s path to Junction 2018 was far from easy. After weeks of preparation, the team won their tickets to Junction 2018 with their astounding win at JUNCTIONxHanoi 2018. In Hanoi, the team competed against the most talented and brightest developers from all over Vietnam. The team won for their creative blockchain-based solution for loyalty point exchanges between franchises.
In preparing for their trip to Finland, the team diligently researched and brainstormed new ideas to meet the harder NEO blockchain track at the global competition. The requirements for Finland’s more difficult and competitive blockchain track were entirely new to the team, so the students had to thoroughly test technology frameworks from their core. Not only did the team have to embrace a new and unfamiliar foundation, they had to creatively apply it to functional real-world applications.
Infinito Phoenix is made up of five second and third-year students from the University of Technology, Hanoi National University, Phạm Minh Tuấn, Vũ Tùng Dương, Lưu Quang Tùng, Lâm Hà Thái, Hoàng Sơn Tùng. The team has been friends since taking the same class in their university and have been researching blockchain technology together since.
In Finland, the team worked relentlessly alongside their mentor and advisor, Infinito’s Product Manager, Mr. Jackie. Pham, to create a creative solution to win the blockchain track. Over the course of 48-hours, the team worked relentlessly into the early hours of the morning to create a practical blockchain-based solution that won based on all judging criteria.
Infinito Phoenix was not alone at JUNCTION 2018 as they were supported by IBL and Infinito. As a co-sponsor, Infinito provided the technical support as well as financial support for their journey to Finland. IBL attended the event to event to provide motivation and support for the team.
This support is above and beyond the support already provided by IBL and Infinito at hackathon JUNCTIONxHanoi 2018. In addition to IBL’s Platinum sponsorship of JUNCTIONxHanoi 2018, Infinito and IBL also organized seminars to help the team clearly understand the track and clarify technical concerns. Also, the team received wonderful and enthusiastic mentoring by Infinito’s Jackie Pham and the rest of the Infinito team at the event who assisted during the 48 stressful hours.
IBL’s support of Infinito Phoenix extends long before JUNCTIONxHanoi 2018. Three members of Infinito Phoenix attended IBL’s Asia Blockchain Education Lab (ABEL) at the University of Technology, Hanoi National University and it contributed to the team’s future success. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of blockchain, ABEL exposed those team members to the potential of this technology and motivated them to continue researching and applying blockchain technology in practice.
In recalling his IBL blockchain lab at his university, Tung Duong explained that “the concept of blockchain is quite new in Vietnam but, we did not feel overwhelmed when entering the Blockchain track because we had the opportunity to learn and research about blockchain when we attended IBL’s Asia Blockchain Education Lab at the University of Technology, Hanoi National University. Attending this course provided the most fundamental knowledge about blockchain technology, helping us further recognize the potential of this technology and motivate us to continue researching and applying blockchain technology in practice”
As a global blockchain pioneer, IBL is committed to education and inspiration through partnerships with top universities as well as designated outreach programs throughout the country and region. IBL has agreements with more than ten leading universities such as the University of Technology, Hanoi National University along with relationships with more than twenty others.
