Infinity Blockchain Labs (IBL) was thrilled to attend the ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) Fellowship 2018 for Module 2 held in Ho Chi Minh City on July 5th, 2018. The event featured fascinating speakers, panels, and workshops exploring the responsibility of businesses across ASEAN. IBL was represented by Ms. Doan Kieu My, the Business Development Manager, who moderated an intriguing panel discussion on blockchain technology as well as Ms. Pham Thuy Tien, the Marketing Leader for IBL’s Vietnam Blockchain Country (VBC), who introduced VBC’s new pilot program, Fruitchain, a sustainable traceability solution for agriculture in Vietnam.
ASEAN CSR Fellowship seeks to develop the next generation of ambassadors for responsible business in Southeast Asia. The fellowship aims to bring together a small team of high-potential individuals from businesses, governments, civil societies, and academia to equip them with in-depth theoretical and practical concepts in responsible business.
The year-long journey will take Fellows to three countries across ASEAN, spending a week every quarter in the countries that cover the full spectrum of varying levels of economic development among the ASEAN member states. Each week spent in the different countries will feature a series of study tours to meet top business leaders, government officials, academics and civil society practitioners.
Vietnam’s stop in the ASEAN CSR Fellowship tour held fascinating speakers, panels, and workshops covering exploring the responsibilities of business across ASEAN. The learning objectives for the event explored Vietnam’s business integrity and anti-corruption initiatives as well as issues in migration. Module 2 also uncovered the concept of sustainable development and thoroughly looked into fourth industrial revolution and its impact on responsible business. Fellows will go through a series of trainings, including ethical recruitment and costs and benefits responsible business.
The panel led by Ms. Doan Kieu My, Business Development Manager of IBL, discussed the impact of blockchain’s ability in leading the next technology revolution as well as leading the future of the world economy while promoting sustainable development. The panel consisted of representatives from key industry leading companies: Mr Nguyen Thien Tam, Innovations Center Director, FE Credit; Mr Rick Yvanovich, Founder & CEO of TRG International; and Mr Robert Vong, COO, Talo.io. My’s vast professional experience in business development and marketing directed the conversation in fascinating directions and facilitated each panel participant to share their experiences and outlooks on the future of the fourth industrial revolution.
My’s professional background and experience has also led IBL business architects on the business management team to expand blockchain solutions business opportunities and partnerships around the ASEAN region. Along with being the blockchain R&D leader in Asia, IBL’s international business architects are building the foundation to expand projects that provide practical solutions to transform industries and businesses around the world. Also in attendance for IBL was Ms. Pham Thuy Tien, the Marketing Leader for IBL’s VBC project. Along with sharing the ideas and values behind VBC’s progressive plans for the future of Vietnam, Tien also introduced VBC’s new pilot project Fruitchain. Fruitchain is a CSR initiative of IBL and the first blockchain-based solution for the traceability of agriculture in Vietnam. This revolutionary product brings sustainable roles and benefits to all parties connected to the agriculture industry in Vietnam.
Fruitchain will solve product transparency issues and guarantee food safety while encouraging parties to provide real-time and transparent information to customers. Fruitchain also allows for control over the entire production process, thereby improving product quality and providing real-time market demand estimation for suppliers. Fruitchain promotes blockchain technology as definite proof and trustworthy information of supply chain thereby promoting trust in Vietnamese agriculture.
Fruitchain is part of IBL’s major community based project to empower the country called Vietnam Blockchain Country (VBC), a community for blockchain thought leaders. VBC aims to connect Vietnam business leaders, educators, policy-makers, regulators, tech entrepreneurs, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations that wish to be part of this transition into the future, in order to foster knowledge sharing, testing, and development of impactful blockchain applications.
The VBC campaign has ambitious plans to build the international brand image for Vietnam as the world leader in blockchain technology. This campaign is carefully crafted by the dedicated team at IBL with the aim of changing the outlook of Vietnam in the eyes of foreign countries.
